Warpaint’s (aka. Sebastian Elkner’s) music carrier began in earnest in 2006 producing for and emceeing with (now defunct) Melbourne hip-hop outfit The Contrast, since then he has also produced beats for Sklang!, Threat Level Orange and most of the upcoming album from Inkstain Pro. His music draws upon influences from many different sources including Jazz, Hiphop, DnB, Glitch, Dub, Dubstep and Blues just to name a few. His debut EP “Burn City Steppa Volume 1″ is a fresh, minimalist arrangement of deep spacial dubstep heavily influenced by the original London future garage sound. Featuring a guest appearance by Melbourne’s Dyzlexic CM on the opening track “Beddageddabeddabeat” Dyz’s rolling flows move smoothly, taking things back to the origins garage style.

Black Sun Empire

Black Sun Empire represent the finest in dark and techy dancefloor drum & bass. Since bursting onto the scene back in 2000, they’ve continued to develop their own unique style and sound, releasing numerous singles as well as three full‐length LPs and establishing themselves as leaders in the field.

With their awesome DJ skills and inspirational productions, Black Sun Empire have reached far beyond their native Holland. They’ve toured the world over, with hghlights this year including Glastonbury and numerous other festival appearances, and continue to build on their growing reputation as some of the most exciting and consistent performers around.

‘Lights and Wires’ was their fourth full‐length album, released in November 2010, and demostrates their versatility across tempos whilst still staying true to their own sound.

Black Sun Empire released their new album ‘From The Shadows’ on their own label BSE Recordings in September 2012 to widespread acclaim. The album also topped the Beatport Drum and Bass charts in the week of its release.

With From The Shadows, Black Sun Empire have managed to perfectly capture much of the classic flavour of their early productions and to perfectly combine this with contemporary production skills. The result is an album of largely hard hitting dance-floor friendly tracks, cut out against their familiar futuristic sci-fi backdrop, with the occasional step into more interesting territory. Some of the collaborations have yielded genuinely special results, each of the tracks have been realised with the typically top of the line production powers we’ve come to expect from a veteran trio of this calibre.

Rarely have we seen someone rise through the ranks as quickly as Boris Daenen, a.k.a Netsky. Leading a wave of new skool D+B talent from Europe with his blend of uplifting, melancholic melodies and heavy dancefloor bass + beats, Netsky’s popularity is astounding. A celebrity in his own country, he has received numerous awards and accolades and continues to impress audiences across the world with his Netsky LIVE! show with full band.

Netsky signed exclusively to Hospital in late 2009; his first release was the iconic “Memory Lane” (as featured on “Sick Music 2″ in 2010) and this was swiftly followed up by his chart topping debut album – “Netsky”– in May of the same year. Following virtually unanimous praise and hype from all corners of the globe, it plunged Netsky firmly into the limelight, where he has remained ever since, delivering a potent mix of dancefloor anthems, vocal led classics and that clean cut new jungle sound which has become his trademark.

Since then, Netsky’s profile as a remixer has been affirmed by his huge remixes of ubiquitous club anthems such as Pendulum – “Witchcraft”, Plan B, Leftfield – “Release The Pressure”, Audio Bullies – “Only Man”, Swedish House Mafia – “One”, Jessie J – “Nobody’s Perfect” and Rusko – “Everyday” and more.

Alongside all this, is Netsky’s hectic schedule and he seems to have a Midas touch, able to transform even the most subdued of parties into an ecstatic, bouncing rave within a matter of minutes. It is no coincidence that he was nominated for the Radio One ‘Essential Mix Of The Year’ in 2010.

In 2012, Netsky unveiled the incredibly impressive Netsky LIVE! at Hospitality Brixton – a full live show with a band. Following the release of January’s digital-only single “Give & Take” and “Come Alive” in May, Netsky’s highly anticipated sophomore album “2” landed late in June and has been received with widespread critical acclaim, hitting the UK Top 30 and No. 1 in his home country of Belgium. One thing’s for sure, 2013 has so far been another golden year for Belgium’s premium D&B export as he presents his full live band across the planet. Be prepared for something special !

Cyantific and Prototypes

Monkee & Lickweed support Cyantific (UK) & The Prototypes (UK)

Cyantific and Prototypes

Inhibit Promotions & Hypnosis Recordings are proud to present two of the hottest touring acts in the world of dance music, as Drum & Bass takes over Melbourne’s SEVEN Nightclub.

Playing an integral role within the Melbourne nightlife community and boasting an impressive list of international acts such as Erykah Badu, Claude Von Stroke and Mark Ronson, March 22nd will mark the first time SEVEN has ever played host to a Drum & Bass themed night. And what better way to kick it off than with this double headlined line up featuring two of the scene’s most notorious acts…

CYANTIFIC (UK) [Hospital/RAM Records]

THE PROTOTYPES (UK) [Shogun Audio]

Saturday March 22nd @ SEVEN Nightclub Melbourne
Doors Open 10pm til late
Supported by
Monkee / Lickweed / Datura / J.Nitrous

$10 Early birds available until March 15th!

Formerly a duo and now just a one man band, fronted by Jon Stanley, Cyantific originally met at high school and was gathered up into the Hospital fold in summer 2002, after a tip off from High Contrast no less.
It was 2006 which saw the release of his debut LP “Ghetto Blaster;” an epic album of futuristic beats which won instant plaudits from both fans and critics alike and really marked Cyantific’s place in D+B history.
Recognised in March 2007 when Cyantific scooped the highly prized “Best Breakthrough DJ” award from BBC 1Xtra, it was apparent that Jon had some serious skills and since then he’s been on a mission to spread the gospel according to Cyantific far and wide.
Add to this, releases on Andy C’s RAM Records, his own imprint “Cyantific Music” and his extremely successful monthly radio show “Cyantific Radio,” Cyantific looks poised to unleash a plethora of bass laced audio, both new and old, mixed at a truly exceptional calibre, when he takes to the stage of Melbourne’s Seven Nightclub.

It needed to be a big release to follow up their huge anthem ‘Cascade’ but when the massive ‘Born to Rise EP’ dropped on Shogun in October 2011 it tore up the rule book on debut releases. Title track ‘Born to Rise’ smashed raves worldwide and received support from the who’s who of the bass music scene, and the anthemic 140 bpm old school rave mash up ‘Taking me over’ received massive play on BBC Radio 1 from the likes of Zane Lowe and Annie Nightingale, proving that there is more depth to these boys than meets the eye.
With all this going on its no surprise that remix work for The Prototypes came in the form of Snoop Dogg, Ed Sheeran, Avicii & Sebastien & Modestep… scoring them A-list play on no other than MTV’s famous dance channel ‘MTV Dance’.

Top DJ agency ‘Coda Music Agency’ moved for The Prototypes at the tail end of 2011 and with the well oiled machine of Shogun Audio behind them the future for this act is looking very bright.
