Organic Audio

Mixed Messages – Addictech records – Whomp Music – join forces to feature some of Australia’s very best talent. – A MASSIVE AUSTRALIAN & NEW ZEALAND LINEUP CONSISTING OF PRODUCERS / LIVE ACTS / DJS / VISUAL AND DECOR

19th of July @ LA DI DA (577 Little Bourke St. CBD)

Australian electronic music scene is organically growing and there has always been an underground community that has captivated the imaginations of ravers throughout all parts of the music scene. From bush doofs, to clubs, secret sites, lounge room floors.. Some genres, artists and events will mark there moments in history, where as others will simply fade with memories replaced by better weekends.

For the more experienced party goers or the young listening sprouts, the producers and community that we surround ourselves with, much like the brilliant minds that occupy the dance floors, continues to consist of a community that live and love to share art, music, expression, experiences and memories together.
This shapes a culture and path we are all dedicated too in one way or another each sharing the ride through our own unique experiences.

For most of the artists on this bill, it has been or is close to a decade in the making which has shaped the performers they are today.

Whether it be playing on Australia’s outdoor festival stages, such as Rainbow Serpents, Subsonic and Strawberry Fields or overseas festivals like Burning man, Shambala and Fusion.
These local sounds featured at Organic Audio have resonated globally to the electronic music community at large.
Overseas promoters make room for Australian talent, as they take our unique and outdoor influenced sounds to the dancefloors you want to play, dance and be heard at.

In cold winter months back home when not all of us can flee to the overseas summer fun, its good to know here in Melbourne their is always some to be had..
Where local artists, much like the culture we all contribute too through the human expression of dance is always THRIVING!!

Come and hear why, gather with the tribe…

Viper Recordings’ “Decade World Tour” is coming down under to celebrate 10 years of releasing fresh, forward thinking music. The Hi-Fi – 125 Swanston St, Melbourne

Sitting at the top of the bill are bass music power-house duo and Viper boss “Matrix & Futurebound”. After smashing up the Australian festival circuit in 2013 as part of the Stereosonic Tour, the pair has once again risen to new heights with the release of their biggest hit to date, ‘Control” (feat. Max Marshall). With huge support on BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra, Capital FM, Minstry of Sound Radio and XFM, ‘Control’ cracked the UK Top 10 and charted #7 in the singles chart and #2 in the Dance charts – a level of success matched only by a select few in the Drum & Bass world. Staying true to their roots, they also dropped their own club mix of ‘Control’ with their techy ‘S.T.F.U. Mix’. A throwback to the early days of the partnership. Matrix & Futurebound proved without a doubt that they could achieve both high chart positions, while still maintaining heavy support in the clubs.

One of the most respected partnerships in drum & bass the “Brookes Brothers” are no strangers to Australia, with 5 previous sell-out tours under their belt. Known for their unique, soul and disco infused beats, the Brookes Brothers are one of the genres most accomplished production teams. In late 2012, the legendary duo signed exclusively to Viper and in August 2013 released ‘Carry Me On’ (feat. Chrom3) to high acclaim, being selected as Zane Lowe’s “hottest record in the world”, as well as making the BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra playlist and hitting #7 on the UK Independent Charts. With a new album in the works for 2014 the most exciting chapter so far for the Brookes Brothers is about to emerge.

Brighton-based producers and DJs “The Prototypes” have exploded onto the scene over the past few years and there’s been no looking back for the duo and their polished brand of dancefloor-destroying drum & bass. Having made their debut in 2010 The Prototypes quickly became one of the most hotly-tipped production duos in the scene and have since built a reputation for putting out instant dancefloor weapons and consistently smashing any and all remixes. Entering into the next chapter of their careers, The Prototypes have now signed with Viper Recordings and released their first album single “Pale Blue Dot/Lights’ in February 2014. With their debut album to be released in 2014 the future has never been brighter for one of the most exciting production outfits in recent years.

Completing this all-star line-up is featured special guest “Rockwell” aka Thomas Green. Signed exclusively to Friction’s Shogun Audio imprint, he is without question one of the most original and talented producers to come out of the drum & bass scene in recent times. His productions are painstakingly constructed, beautifully arranged and thoughtfully mastered. Each track offers unique textures seldom heard in electronic music – let alone drum & bass – and his signature sound is one of the few that works just as well in the living room as in the club. As a DJ Rockwell has built a reputation for his eclectic sets, with crowds never knowing what he’s going to pull out of his bag next he has quickly established himself as one of the most exciting DJs in dance music.

Koan Sound

KOAN Sound is an electronic music production duo from Bristol, United Kingdom. The duo consists of Will Weeks and Jim Bastow.

It’s strange how the death of one musical group can be exactly the sort of catalyst needed to spawn another. KOAN Sound are certainly a highly gifted example of this phenomenon. It was in 2008 that KOAN Sound emerged from the ashes of several other musical endeavours, fusing passion for electronic music with sheer musical intuition. Since then KOAN Sound have continued to develop, synthesising ever more complex and inspirational patterns. And with influences such as The Prodigy, Amon Tobin and Noisia, it’s not hard to see why KOAN Sound productions are synonymous with dark gripping basslines; elegantly mastered and meticulously executed.

Support is nothing but exponential for KOAN Sound. The group’s creative and above all original ethos has granted them well deserved credibility from producers, DJ and music fans alike. These include Aphex Twin, Pendulum, Zane Lowe and Rusko. Armed with a creative diversity second to none, they have set themselves apart from their peers and continue to push music not restrained by tempo or genre, all connected by their trademark ‘KOAN’ sound.

A. Skillz

Record label owner, producer and DJ extraordinaire, A.Skillz’ incredible deck talents fuse funk, soul and hip-hop with D’n'B, dub-step and breaks, all sliced, mashed and cut together with a unique style of scratching and mixing. His reputation as a true party rocker has won him prime-time slots across the world at a ‘who’s who’ of major events.

Adam Mills, aka A Skillz, is a breaks DJ and producer from the U.K. who has spun at parties and festivals across the globe. Across the years, he has combined funk and soul — the backbone of old-school and golden age rap, his primary inspirations — with flashes of drum’n’bass and dubstep. His first release of note was a collaboration with the like-minded Krafty Kuts; in 2002, they issued the freewheeling 12” “Tricka Technology” (featuring Zulu Nation’s T.C. Izlam), and then followed it the next year with an album of the same title. For the next several years, Mills worked predominantly with the 12” format, including over ten releases in the bootleg-oriented Insane Bangers series. He also mixed Freshtraxxx, a compilation of releases from the Finger Lickin’ label that featured his work beside Krafty Kuts, as well as that of Plump DJs, Soul of Man, Drumattic Twins, and Slyde.
